Mindgardens is pleased to present the first edition of the MindLabs Psychosis Webinar series for 2026, Making Meaning of Physical Multimorbidity: Prevalence, Impacts and Prevention for People Living with Severe Mental Illness, presented by Dr Sean Halstead.
Speaker
Dr Sean Halstead is a psychiatry registrar based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. Sean is also undertaking a full-time PhD with the University of Queensland. His PhD project is titled Impacts and manifestations of physical multimorbidity amongst people living with severe mental illness, and he is supported by an Australian Research Training Program scholarship and a RANZCP Foundation partners PhD scholarship. Sean is a Research Ambassador with Equally Well Australia and also serves as an Associate Editor with Schizophrenia Bulletin.

By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Understand the relevance of the concept of ‘multimorbidity’ when framing the physical health needs experienced by people living with severe mental illness.
- Contextualise the disproportionate burden of physical multimorbidity experienced by people living with severe mental illness and the impacts this burden has on clinical outcomes.
- Apply a ‘multimorbidity’ model to the delivery of holistic and multidisciplinary physical health care for people living with severe mental illness.
