The Mindgardens Members are developing the elements of a mental health, drug and alcohol and neurological service “ecosystem” that acknowledges and combines the respective strengths of different types of health care.

The Mindgardens approach will ensure the support people receive:

  • matches the urgency and severity of their situation
  • connects the components of their care, across general practice, specialist and psychosocial support services
  • is accessible, equitable and responsive to age, gender and cultural needs
  • makes good use of health system resources.

To achieve this, Mindgardens focuses on translational research and innovation programs and projects that present a clear pathway to service improvement.

Mindgardens is a key collaborator in the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct (RHIP), which has been established to maximise the benefits from physically co-locating UNSW, Randwick campus hospitals, medical research institutes and health partners. As a young organisation that is already partnering successfully across these sectors, Mindgardens is powerful contributor to the Precinct where it  represents the benefits and impacts of this approach.
