Event description

Mindgardens is pleased to present the third edition of the MindLabs Psychosis Webinar series for 2026, Smoking cessation during psychosis, presented by Tracey Greenberg.

Speaker

Tracey Greenberg is a trainer with more than 40 years experience in the field of alcohol and other drugs (AOD). With a background in psychiatric nursing, women’s health, drug and alcohol counseling, and childbirth education, she spent 13 years with the Centre for Education and Information on Drugs and Alcohol (CEIDA), developing, delivering, and evaluating drug and alcohol training for the NSW AOD and health & welfare sector. She was then employed by an area health service to develop and deliver brief intervention training in smoking cessation for medical, nursing, and allied health staff.

Since 2004 Tracey has worked part-time for NSW Health as the Statewide Tobacco Cessation Trainer, based at St Vincent’s Alcohol and Drug Service, training staff in NSW to intervene with smokers. She has a special interest in reducing smoking rates in disadvantaged and marginalised communities, with a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, mental health, drug and alcohol, and ex-prisoners.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  1. Describe what advantages there are to mental health when people stop smoking.
  2. Outline an adequate regimen of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to reduce withdrawal symptoms.
