A collaborative research program between Black Dog Institute and UNSW Sydney has been recognised with the prestigious Tom Trauer Evaluation and Research Award at the 2025 Mental Health Service Awards of Australia and New Zealand (TheMHS Awards).
The award acknowledges the team’s decade-long efforts to improve the mental health of Australia’s emergency service workers through world-leading research, translation, and implementation.
“Receiving the Tom Trauer Award is a real celebration of the collaborative work between Black Dog Institute and UNSW,” says Dr Mark Deady, Senior Research Fellow at Black Dog Institute. “It recognises the dedication of our team and the innovative approaches we’ve taken to better understand and support the mental health of Australia’s emergency service workers.”
